We'll take a hard look at your character arcs to make sure they are changing or progressing from beginning to end. Consistency and fully fleshed out goals will make your character one readers can root for.
Show + Tell Analysis
This service goes deep into the writing of your scenes. We'll analyze where you can show vs. tell, where to cut out filtering, and work on how to provide that imagery that makes every reader swoon.

This free consultation period is the first step! It will help us determine if we make a good fit. After you send me your first 1,000 words, I'll give you a sample edit of what editing will look like. If you like what you see, we'll schedule a 30-minute zoom call and discuss further edits. If you decide to move forward, we will move to the contract and booking stage.
DEVELOPMENTAL EDIT
$2,500.00 flat rate
To edit your manuscript, we'll follow the Three Act structure. We'll take a look at the beats inside the three acts and see how they line up. This is the pacing check. This may mean we have to move scenes around, add/delete scenes, or make scenes more exciting! Typically, this edit is the very first edit performed on any manuscript.

We'll also do a careful examination of plot. What can be strengthened? What can be removed? What is inconsistent? How can we up the stakes? This includes a check of each scene for any discrepancies. By the end, your plot, your pacing, and your scenes will be flawless.

CHARACTER ARC
$900.00 for one character
This edit focuses solely on character development and character arcs. I'll help you strengthen and define your character's goals, and then we'll see how that character arc lines up. Does the MC change or does the MC stay stagnant? Are they meeting appropriate obstacles or is life a breeze? At the end of this edit, your character will be one everyone is rooting for. This edit is a good early stage edit--usually done right after, or in conjunction with, a developmental edit.

Have more than one character POV?
We can address more than one character arc! Especially if they need to intertwine. Cost is a $900.00 for the first character + $750.00 for the second + $600.00 for the third.

SHOW AND TELL
$2,800 flat rate + $50.00 fee for 1 hour of coaching
The number one mistake beginner writers make is this concept of show and tell. Both showing and telling have a place in a novel, but when the entire book is told rather than shown, readers will likely set the book down and never pick it up again. Choose this edit if you're manuscript is already sound in plot and structure.

In this edit, we'll go over each one of your scenes and figure out where you can show rather than tell. We'll also include a pass to find any of those problematic filtering spots. This edit will include some rewrites, and, if necessary, some coaching. The coaching session can be booked in addition to the editing. When all is finished, your imagery and showing will leave a reader feeling like they are truly part of the story.
